Dimitriou Tassos

Dr. Dimitriou Tassos received his BSc degree from the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the University of Patras, Greece in 1991, and his MSc and PhD degrees from the Computer Science Dept. of the University of California, San Diego in 1993 and 1996, respectively. In 1997, he joined the Computer Technology Institute, Patras, Greece, where he conducted research on Probabilistic and Approximation Algorithms. In parallel, he was a visiting professor at the Computer Science department of the University of Athens teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses.
 
Since 2001, Dr. Dimitriou is a faculty member at Athens Information Technology (AIT) and adjunct professor in Carnegie Mellon University, USA. In 2004, he founded at AIT the Algorithms and Security group where the objective is to bring together expertise and promote education, research and practice in the field of information security and algorithms. His research in the above fields has resulted in numerous publications, some of which received distinction, and numerous invitations for talks in prestigious conferences like the International World Wide Web conference and InfoCom. Furthermore, apart from his teaching duties at AIT, he regularly gives short and professional courses on topics related to security.
