INA Academy, following the successful organisation of this Conference on electronic security since 2005, is pleased to announce the upcoming 4th Regional Electronic Security Forum: Telecommunications Networks and Systems Security, which will be held on 6 & 7 November 2008 in Thessaloniki, Greece.

As in 2007, the eSecurity Forum will be placed under the auspices of the Special Secretariat for Digital Planning of the Hellenic Ministry of Economy and Finance and Microsoft Hellas is the event’s Grand Sponsor for the second consecutive year.

This year the eSecurity Forum will also host
an expert training workshop on Security:

Conference Objectives

Fundamental objective of the Conference is to contribute to public awareness raising and information dissemination in Greece and the wider region of South-eastern Europe and the East Mediterranean, where similar opportunities are limited, on critical issues related to electronic security in communications networks and services. This year in particular, specific emphasis will be placed on the critical role of eSecurity in eGovernment applications. Realizing the potential benefits of IT and taking advantage of today’s rapid expansion of interconnected computer networks that provide the opportunity for governments to transform themselves from leviathan institutions to compact and efficient organizations, the international community has turned its interest to electronic Security as one of the essential features of e-Governance. In this framework the transmission of confidential information via electronic networks should be treated with the same care and diligence as national security. Representatives of the Hellenic Ministry of Interior, Public Administration & Decentralisation and of the Special Secretariat for Digital Planning will be asked to shed light on the process of creating the Greek eGovernment platform. Leading experts from the academia and the private sector with vast experience in the field will discuss the critical issues to be considered and the barriers to be overcome, with practical references to applications and systems being developed as we speak in the international scene. The Conference will also examine issues that deal with risk management related to electronic threats in small or larger enterprises, and provide insight on efficient Defence Strategies.

The Conference is expected to attract a great number of participants from Greece and SEE countries and therefore, the official language of the conference is English. Admission to the Conference requires of Registration Free of Charge.
